An important thing to remember about Ed's writing is that he worked in a field where pseudonyms were the order of the day. Ed ceratainly used many pen names in his writing, just as he did in his film work. This makes it extremely difficult to be certain which writings are his an which are not. Even more difficult than identifying his film work. As such, I give no guarantee that any work listed here with a name other than Ed's (not even the best known ones like Dick Trent) are by Ed. I can assure you that everything listed here has had a viable claim made against it by someone who at least *think* he or she knows what they're talking about. But memories fade and wishful thinking can play tricks. IF it doesn't say "Ed Wood", you just can't be sure. This book is a version of Dracula that utilizes the original Bram Stoker text, but with additions of a sexual nature.

David C. Hayes, in his book Muddled Mind: The Complete Works of Edward D. Wood, Jr. posits that Ed is the most likely candidate to have undertaken this re-write.

Other sources indicate that it was written by horror writer Hal Kantor.

By all accounts, Black Lace Drag is Ed's first published novel. It is also his most published and most commonly available.

It is most often seen under it's best known title, Killer In Drag, as first featured on the Imperial Books edition. In total, four editions have used this title.

A rarer edition is Twilight Land, which is most likely a case of Ed passing off an old manuscript as a new work. It may be this edition that surfaced in a misprint utilizing the cover of Ken Worthy's Homosexual Generation.

In 2002, Black Lace Drag was translated into Spanish and published as La Drag Asesina.

Ed wrote a sequel to Black Lace Drag that continues the tale of Glen, Death of a Transvestite.
